You may need to streamline your hiring procedures in order to acquire top talent before someone else does. Remember, the longer a position remains open, the less work is being done, and the more money it will cost.

Here are some tips:

Get organized and eliminate red tape

Prepare an interview schedule. If more than one person is to interview candidates, make sure that everyone is present to interview when a candidate comes in for the first time.

Be prepared to hire immediately

Many employers have commented that they don't want to hire the first candidate, or they want to have many to choose from. If a candidate has great references and your gut says this person is right, then it is wise to make an offer immediately. If you snooze, you may lose.

Sell your company

I can't tell you how many employers fail to sell their companies to candidates. The candidate is expected to sell him or herself, but you should also be selling to them. Offer competitive compensation and benefits if you want to attract and keep the best talent.
